The Triaxial shear test apparatus shall confirm with the requirements of IS: 2720 (Part 11) and (Part 12) and are made from corrosion resistant material. The machine shall becapable of carrying outunconsolidated un-drained (UU), consolidated drained (CD) and consolidated un-drained (CU) compression tests.

Specifications of Triaxial cell

         The cell is useful for testing 38 mm dia. x 76 mm high soil specimen. Transparent Perspex chamber with anvil and loading plunger.

          The cell is easily opened by releasing four nuts of the tie rods.

          It is leak proof up to 10kg/cm sq. fluid pressure.

         This provided effective sealing at the plunger for long duration test.

CONSTANT PRESSURE SYSTEM (Oil and Water)

         In a traixial test it pore pressure is not required to be measured the testes can be completed in short times. However where pore pressure measurements are required, the duration of the triaxial test is moe as much as 96 hours.
